The Ministry of Youth of Libya's Government of National Unity has officially opened registration for Libyan youth to participate in the national consultation workshops for the preparation of the National Youth Strategy 2026-2031. The initiative, announced on July 25, 2026, aims to directly involve young Libyans from all regions of the country in shaping the policies that will define their future over the next five years.
The Ministry invites all young men and women from across Libya to register through the dedicated electronic form available on the Ministry's official platforms. The registration deadline is set for Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 12:00 PM noon, giving applicants a limited window to secure their participation.
According to the Ministry's announcement published on its official Facebook page, the workshops are designed to be inclusive, gathering youth representatives from different cities, backgrounds, and experiences to ensure a comprehensive national dialogue.
The National Youth Strategy 2026-2031 represents a structured attempt by the Government of National Unity to address the long-standing challenges facing Libya's younger generation. With over 60% of Libya's population under the age of 30, youth policies are not a peripheral concern — they are central to the country's stability and development trajectory.
Libyan youth have faced disproportionate challenges in the post-2011 era, including limited employment opportunities, restricted access to quality education, and marginalization from political decision-making processes. The Ministry emphasized that the strategy aims to reverse these trends by creating evidence-based programs rooted in the actual needs and aspirations voiced by young Libyans themselves.
The consultation workshops are not symbolic exercises. The Ministry of Youth stated clearly that the strategy's preparation relies on youth participation as the primary stakeholder group. The workshops will focus on several key objectives:
The Ministry stressed that contributions from participants will directly influence priority-setting and the development of practical solutions that support youth engagement in national development.
The 2026-2031 timeframe of the strategy signals a medium-term commitment to structured youth policy. The Ministry of Youth, established as an independent ministry in March 2021, has positioned this strategy as its flagship initiative. The strategy is expected to cover multiple sectors including education, employment, entrepreneurship, health, sports, culture, and political participation.
The Ministry underscored that involving young people in designing their own policies is a cornerstone of building a comprehensive national strategy. "Libya will not be built except by the hands of its ambitious youth and their renewable energies," the Ministry stated in its official communications.
Interested participants can find the registration link on the Ministry of Youth's official Facebook page and website. The Ministry urged all eligible youth to take advantage of this opportunity to make their voices heard in the policy-making process that will shape Libya's youth landscape for years to come.
This initiative represents one of the most structured youth engagement efforts by the Government of National Unity, offering a direct channel for young Libyans to influence national policy. With the July 28 deadline approaching, youth across the country are encouraged to register promptly.
