Captain Martin Odegaard was pictured on Eberechi Eze's Instagram with the Arsenal bottle that a Manchester City fan had made viral at Stamford Bridge — a dig at the Gunners allegedly "bottling" the title that has now become a trophy celebration prop.
Former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who led the team to their last title in 2004 with the famous Invincibles side, featured in a celebratory post on Arsenal's X account. "You did it. Champions go on when others stop. This is your time. Now, go on and enjoy every moment," Wenger said.
Champions League Final Awaits
There could be more silverware on the horizon for Arsenal as they bid to win the Champions League for the first time in the club's history. The Gunners face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final in Budapest on Saturday, May 30. Smith added: "You have to have nervy moments when you haven't won it for that long and Arsenal did have them. But hopefully now they can play with freedom. It almost feels that the Champions League final is a free hit now."
Arsenal will be presented with the Premier League trophy after their final game of the season at Crystal Palace on Sunday. For a club that last lifted the trophy in 2004 — when Wenger's side went through the entire league season unbeaten with 26 wins and 12 draws — this moment has been 22 years in the making. The red side of north London can finally call themselves champions of England once again.
