Aiglons FC of N'Djaména has completed one of the most dominant campaigns in Chadian football history, winning the 2025/2026 Ligue Nationale de Football title without a single defeat. The club finished the season with 58 points from 22 matches — 18 wins and 4 draws — scoring 72 goals while conceding just 7, a staggering goal difference of +65. This marks the first-ever top-flight title for Aiglons FC, cementing their place in Chadian football history.
The 33rd edition of the Chadian first division, organized by the Fédération Tchadienne de Football Association (FTFA), ran from December 13, 2025, to June 6, 2026. Twelve clubs competed in a double round-robin format, producing 132 matches across the season. The league returned after a two-year hiatus, making this campaign especially significant for football fans across Chad.
AS PSI, the defending champions who won their first-ever title in the previous season, put up a strong fight but ultimately fell five points short. With 17 wins and 44 goals scored, the N'Djaména-based club confirmed their status as one of Chad's elite football institutions. Their second-place finish earns them a spot in the 2026-2027 CAF Confederation Cup, Africa's second-tier continental competition.
Aiglons FC will represent Chad in the 2026-2027 CAF Champions League, Africa's premier club competition. It will be a landmark debut on the continental stage for the newly crowned champions. AS PSI, meanwhile, enters the CAF Confederation Cup, giving Chad two representatives in African club competitions next season. Elect-Sport FC's third-place finish with 49 points rounds out a strong showing from the capital's clubs.
At the other end of the table, Scorpion FC of Borkou were relegated after finishing in last place with just 14 points from 22 matches. The club managed only 4 wins and suffered 16 defeats, conceding 59 goals — the worst defensive record in the league. Foullah Edifice FC narrowly avoided the drop with 15 points but will need significant reinforcements to survive next season.
The return of Chad's top division after a two-year interruption is a significant development for football across the Sahel region. Chad shares deep cultural and sporting ties with Libya, and many North African football fans follow developments in neighboring leagues closely. Aiglons FC's unbeaten run — 22 matches without defeat — is a rare feat in any league and signals the growing competitiveness of Chadian football. Libyan clubs competing in CAF competitions may face Chadian opposition in coming seasons, making these standings directly relevant to the regional football landscape.
With Aiglons FC set to make their CAF Champions League debut and AS PSI entering the Confederation Cup, the 2026-2027 season promises even greater excitement for Chadian football. The league's return to stability after two years of interruption provides a foundation for growth. Football fans across North Africa will be watching to see if Aiglons FC can defend their title and whether Chad's continental representatives can make an impact on the African stage.
